Greetings SUE members,
The end is in sight! On behalf of the SUE 2016/17 Executive Team we would like to thank all SUE members for an amazing year. We broke some new ground, revisited cherished events such as Industry Night, and took special pride in advocating in your favor during the Economics Department Review. To those graduating this year, we wish you the best of luck in your transition to the labor market or in your continued pursuit of higher education! As we approach the end of the school year there are some important things going on with SUE that you should know about. Our final Den Mixer of the school year is this upcoming Monday April 3 from 4 to 6 pm in the Red Room! Come enjoy free pizza and beer on us and join us in introducing the new VPs for next year’s executive team. If you are graduating this spring we would especially love to have you to give you a proper send off!
Now that SUE has had its annual election to fill most our VP positions, we will begin the hiring process for VP External, VP Academic, and Executive VP, as well as all Director positions. We are looking for enthusiastic and capable students who are ready to put their unique skills to work in this influential and resourceful club. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to your program and student body, and you will learn practical skills which will be sure to impress future employers. No matter your interest and no matter your level of experience, we look forward to hearing what you could bring to the SUE team! This is a unique opportunity to work alongside your fellow students in a fun, dedicated, and truly impactful team. We would especially like to invite back all candidates who ran for election, but were unsuccessful. We still want what you have to offer.
To submit your application please email your resume and a brief statement for why you believe you would make a good candidate for the position to email@example.com by 11:59 pm on Sunday, April 2nd. In the subject line please write your name and desired position(s) (ie. John Smith, Director of Communications). Interviews for selected candidates will take place sometime in the week following the deadline. Click here to see a list of the positions for which we are seeking candidates along with a brief description of the responsibilities and/or recommended skills. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact next year’s president Liam Lindsay (firstname.lastname@example.org) or SUE (email@example.com).
The last order of business for us to wrap up with is our year-end evaluation survey. Much like those professor evaluations that circle around this time of year, the SUE Exec team would like your feedback on how we did this year as well! Please click here to give us feedback on what we did well and what we need to work on for next year. With your help, we can make sure SUE only gets better for next year!
We would like to take this opportunity to say a sincere thank you to all of you that contributed to making this year another fantastic year. The SUE has once again been nominated for various club awards and we couldn't have done it without your support and engagement. We hope to see all of you at our last mixer on Monday April 3rd in the Den so that we can end the year with a bang. Best of luck with exams and remember that we are all in this together.
