On Thursday, Nov. 16, the Society of Undergraduates in Economics and the Hunter Hub for Entrepreneurial Thinking hosted a fantastic networking event at the Fairmont Palliser Hotel. We are happy to report that the event was a success – with a turnout of over 50 professionals.
The event started with a brief panel interview, featuring various industry professionals eager to share their knowledge with economics undergrads. The panel topic was big data and its relevance in an ever-growing technological economy. The S.U.E team would like to thank the industry leaders who took time out of their day to play a crucial role in the discussion of big data.
As the panel concluded, drinks were poured, hors d'oeuvres were served, and students and industry leaders were encouraged to converse. This was a great opportunity for students to be introduced to various industries relating to the field of economics, and expand their horizons amid a competitive job market. As a student, there is unparalleled value in attending networking events.
We at S.U.E. hope you found the networking event worthwhile. We are very eager to see you all at our next big networking event, Industry Night 2018. Your continued support and fascination with economic thought is what makes our events such a success. Stay up to date with our events by following “Society of Undergraduates in Economics” on Facebook.
