Welcome back to class, econ students!
Congratulations for making it through another (or maybe your very first!) semester. As is tradition, we’re kicking off the semester with Clubs Week in MacHall. Starting on January 15th, you can find SUE in the swarm of clubs tables in the courtyard. If you’ve been searching for more opportunities on campus, there is no better time than now to get involved with us.
Our largest event of the year is only one month away. Industry Night will be February 6th and is an incredible way to learn about the various industries in the field, meet like-minded students, get to know professors, and ask professionals any questions you might have. SUE executives will be selling tickets in various locations as the date approaches, so keep an eye out for our banner.
Or if you’re a professional tutor, we’d love to advertise your services and help prospective students get the support they need.
Aside from Industry Night, this semester we will hold our Annual General Meeting, where new positions will be voted on and new executives, directors, and junior executives will be transitioned into their roles.
To learn more about anything mentioned thus far, stop by our table during Clubs Week or send a personal message to an executive. We’re here to help and always searching for passionate people to join our team. Whether you’re looking for a high profile or low responsibility position, we have something for you. If you’re a professional tutor, we’d love to advertise your services and help prospective students get the support they need.
To help you navigate this year and the rest of your degree,
Here’s a piece of advice from our club president, Liam:
“In our program, and in university in general, you absolutely get what you put in. You could definitely go through school without putting in any real effort towards academics, your social life, planning for a career, etc- but don’t. Trying and learning to do well is well worth it.”
